A recent photo of Dave. It can be enlarged by
clicking on it, only because he's such good-looking guy!

The Easter rush and the end of the semester at the University have prevented me from getting back to the web site and class directory. So, I attached a current photo and here is brief update for the file...

After Rhet graduation I spent 3 philosophy years at Catholic U. (Joe Carrol & Gary Passarino were classmates.) 4 theology years at Graduate Theological Union with the Franciscan School followed. (Steve Essig was my roommate the first year in Berkeley. I was slowly moving away from Stockton diocese and looking for a community. I moved to Rock Hill, SC in Sept, 1974 and joined The Oratory.

I was ordained in 1976 and have worked a variety of ministries including a small African/Am parish, campus ministry and formation for our house.Currently I work for our Center for Spirituality (retreats, workshops, spiritual direction and organizing conferences), some campus ministry at a nearby state university and weekend liturgies at a nearby parish.

We have lots of room for hospitality for anyone traveling in the Charlotte, NC area (about 25 mins). My family still lives in the Stockton, CA area where I visit a couple times a year. Jim Hennessy and I have dinner about once a year in Charleston, SC and trade Mt. View stories.

In Memoriam
(Feel free to send me you thoughts and memories about Dave to be posted here if you so desire.)

Dave passed on earlier this year, but above is what he wrote about himself in 2006. I hope to have more spicifics about his last days for those who are interested. Just knowing his  personality was out there somewhere doing his ministry brought joy to my heart, and knowing that he spent a life-time doing this continues to make me glad for having known him so many years ago. He will be missed not just by me in the brief encounters I had with him on the Indians and in Latin class, but by many who encountered him on his life's journey.

Steve Essig sent me the following links about Dave he googled. They helped me know more and appreciate Dave even more by those who knew and loved him as an adult:
Thanks, Steve. I'll send this on to the SJS classmates as well as keep it on this site.  --JB, Dec. 8, 2010
